EDITORIAL COMMITTEE

The Editorial Committee is made up of: Responsible Editor, Editorial Team, Editorial Board and Scientific Committee.

Responsible Editor:

Marta Lígia Pomim Valentim - São Paulo State University (Unesp) - Brazil

Functions:

  • Plan, articulate and organize the editions of the Revista EDICIC according to their periodicity.
  • Select and invite renowned authors from other national and foreign institutions, with the aim of publishing innovative or reflective texts.
  • Select, invite, and guide the ad hoc team of evaluators.
  • Receive papers from authors and send them for evaluation in accordance with the evaluation process established in this Policy.
  • Provide all instructions to authors regarding Editorial Policy, submission, and evaluation of texts.
  • Inform authors about the results of the evaluation.
  • Maintain scientific and editorial quality.
  • Supervise the editorial production of the Journal in all its phases.
  • Articulate information relating to the publication, keeping it organized and available for consultation at any time.
  • Formally represent Revista EDICIC when necessary.
  • Stimulate the production of originals, attracting quality authors and texts.
  • Implement consistent evaluation criteria, seeking continuous improvement of the content published in the Journal.
  • Seek excellence and maintain ethical and fair standards.

Editorial Team

The Editorial Team of the Revista EDICIC is made up of members of the Association's Executive Board, whose responsibilities are:

  • Develop and update the Editorial Policy of the Revista EDICIC.
  • Act as advisors to the Responsible Editor in relation to the editorial process.
  • Maintain and update the editorial line of Revista EDICIC.
  • Appoint news ad hoc
  • Act as a third evaluator, if necessary, when a contribution receives contrary evaluations.
  • Guarantee the scientific quality and periodicity of the Revista EDICIC.
  • Invite researchers of recognized scientific competence to collaborate with the paper’s publication.
  • Establish strategies to maintain Revista EDICIC and improve its positioning in national and international rankings.
  • Collaborate with the dissemination of Revista EDICIC.

Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is made up of renowned researchers from Iberoamerica and the Caribbean, responsible for contributing to the Responsible Editor and the Editorial Team of the Revista EDICIC. The members of the Editorial Board have a 2 (years) term of office and can be re-elected at the end of the term.

The Editorial Board exercises an advisory role and is responsible for:

  • Propose improvements to the Editorial Policy of the Revista EDICIC.
  • Propose new researchers to improve the bank of ad hoc
  • Support the Responsible Editor and the Editorial Team to ensure good editorial practices.
  • Resolve omitted cases.

Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee of the Revista EDICIC is made up of renowned researchers, from different sub-areas of knowledge in the scientific field of Information Science and from several countries, whose responsibilities are:

  • Evaluate the texts sent by the Responsible Editor or Section Editor, according to the evaluation form available on the Open Journal Systems Platform (OJS).
  • Provide a clear opinion, with a recommendation for publication or not, in the following categories:
  1. Accept the article without restrictions.
  2. Accept the article with restrictions, with the obligation to return the text to the evaluator. In this case, the evaluator must describe what corrections need to be made.
  3. Accept the article with restrictions, without the obligation to return the text to the evaluator. In this case, the evaluator must mention which corrections need to be made, reinforcing that there is no need for the text to be returned to the evaluator.
  4. Reject the article because the text is deficient. In this case, the evaluator must describe what the deficiencies are.
  5. Reject the article, as the text does not align with the scope of the Revista EDICIC, but because it is well prepared, the evaluator may suggest that the author send it to another scientific journal. In this case, the evaluator can even indicate journal titles.
  • Send evaluations to the Responsible Editor or Section Editor within the established deadline.
  • It is the responsibility of the members of the Scientific Committee to issue opinions, based on the evaluation of the articles presented, applying the Revista EDICIC own evaluation instrument, which will be periodically reviewed and updated.
