The potential of the Semantic Web and Web 2.0 for Information Science and the new formats of electronic publications for academic-scientific research

Even with easy access to the full-text journal articles scientific, the format used in the electronic environment is still textual (human-readable), hindering their recovery in a form readable by programs. The semantic technologies offer advances on the issue of recovery and semantic processing of contents in e-Science environments. This paper presents some experiments and propositions of semantic publications That exploit, in the digital environment, the possibilities opened by Semantic Web technologies and Web 2.0, which have in common the fact of offering new formats that exceed the mere digital print copy, Enlarging the potential for understanding and retrieval of semantic content and interaction between authors and readers of scientific digital articles.
