Recife Observatory: building a public observatory of indicators

This paper aims to present a proposal for the construction of a public observatory of indicators for the city of Recife. The observatory gathers reliable data about the city in an interactive panel organized by themes such as demography, health, education, and social development. The research adopts a qualitative approach, focused on describing the construction of a public observatory of urban indicators. The methodological process was structured in seven stages: (1) selection of the indicators that would compose the observatory; (2) identification of data sources; (3) construction of an initial layout; (4) development of the interactive panel; (5) conducting internal tests and evaluations; (6) defining the database update flow; and (7) publication of the final platform.
