Data Mining in MARC Format: the case of USP's scientific production

This work is an exercise in exploiting the records of scientific production at the University of São Paulo, verifying the possibility of data mining documented in the MARC format, using a fixed set of records in the years 2005 to 2010 in catalog Dedalus. It was possible to extract numerical data by type of material, the identification of the national and international production and external co-authorship.
