Section Policy

Revista EDICIC publishes original texts such as: research papers, review papers, case studies, communications, experience reports, preprints, doctoral and master's consortiums, reviews, interviews, editorials, and presentations related to the Information Science area, as previously scoped mentioned. The following categories are accepted for publication in the Revista EDICIC:

  1. Research Paper: Original text whose objective is to report results of completed research, which have not yet been published in another media outlet. From 15 to 25 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  2. Review Paper: Original text whose objective is to identify, reflect on and constructively criticize the knowledge generated on a given topic from consultation of extensive bibliography. 20 to 30 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  3. Case Study: Original text on a particular case study or on a multiple case study of a specific reality or context. From 12 to 20 pages, including references, figures, graphs, charts, and tables.
  4. Communication: Original scientific research text, with preliminary or immediately relevant results. 10 to 15 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  5. Experience Report: Original text that present experiences lived in a certain reality or context. From 7 to 12 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  6. Preprint: Original text originating from academic-scientific research not yet validated by peers, published in reliable preprint repositories, and not submitted for publication in another scientific journal. From 15 to 25 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  7. Doctorate and Master's Consortium: Original text linked to ongoing these or dissertation project, whose objective is to contribute to the dissemination of research in development by doctoral and master's students, communicating emerging themes of interest to postgraduate students to the scientific community. From 15 to 25 pages, including references, figures, graphs, frames, and tables.
  8. Recension: Original text about a published work, highlighting the ideas of the author of the published work, as well as expressing the opinion of the review author about the published work. From 1 to 5 pages.
  9. Interview: Transcription of interview carried out by the Editor of Revista EDICIC or by a member of the Editorial Board, whose objective is to present the history/memory of the area of Information Science or emerging themes that contribute to the advancement of the state of the art in this scientific field.
  10. Editorial: Aims to inform the reader about the content of the published edition, which closes annually, since the periodical has adopted the 'continuous flow' modality. In addition to this objective, the Editorial can also present reflections on emerging themes or even highlight an important historical theme.
  11. Presentation: Aims to inform the reader about the content of a special issue, it is generally prepared by the organizers of the special issue.
